Highlights from the April 8, 2010 Joint Session Meeting


· ~We discussed procedures for the discussion groups on April 11th and 18th.

· ~The church building passed inspections for having YMCA camps at the Forest Park location this summer.

· ~The parking lot on the west side of Forest Park will be repaired and sealed.

· ~New microphones are being purchased to comply with new regulations on frequencies.

· ~Cheryl Canfield was elected as elder commissioner from Forest Park for the April 10 Presbytery meeting. Marilyn Swearer serves as elder commissioner for Northminster.

Highlights from the April 7, 2010 Joint Deacon's Meeting


· ~Fifteen Deacons met April 7, 2010 in the Harvester Room at 5:30 pm at Forest Park.

· ~There were 15 Blood Pressures taken on March 14th.

· ~Nine Prayer Chain requests were sent in March.

· ~A vote was approved to allow the Memorial Committee to purchase two cordless microphones to be used during worship service. The money will be taken from the Doris Sowers memorial.

· ~Deacons were reminded of the importance of greeting each and every person as they come in the door.

· ~A Bridal Shower was held on April 3 for Stacy Goble with good attendance. A Bridal Shower for Jessie, fiancée of Jess Langvardt, will be held April 18th, and a Bridal Shower for Amy Castic, fiancée of Ross Turner, will be held on May 8th. A Baby Shower will be scheduled soon for Sheena (Power) Koehn.

· ~Discussion was held about delivering communion to shut-ins with the pastor

· ~Plans were made to send "goody" boxes to college students during finals week. Deacons were asked to purchase the boxes and the items to fill them, and to make the address labels for mailing. April 26th was set to gather at the church to fill the boxes.

· ~The sharing of concerns and joys was followed by joining hands and praying The Lord's Prayer together.

· ~The next meeting will be held May 5th.
